Oh yay! something that has to do with Oboe! well first of oboe reeds dont come in size they come in hardness. If you have never played before get a soft. Trust me im an oboist. if you get a medium soft you will never make a sound. IMPORTANT! Reeds also need to be soaked in a up or film canister all the way up to the beginning of the string for about 5 to 15 minutes before use. And because you have never played before here are some tips. your emborcure is very different from clarinet. Both your upper and lower lips should be rolled in so that you cant even see the pink on them. your air should be very focused. when you get the reed you will be amazed at how the small the opening will be. ITS TINY!! make sure that you support with your diaphram, it will help you stay in tune. also your reeds play better when they are hand made and have no wire. the reeds you buy at your music store will not sound near as good as the ones a forests double reeds. Forests is a music store that specializes in double reeds, but until your embourcure becomes stronger you most likely will not be able to play them for a while. Oboe is a beautiful instrument and it can take years to master, but please do not give up. If you become good enough it can also land you a full ride college schollarship. Just practice everything i told you and you will do great. Oh also! Get a private teacher. band Teachers rarely will be able to help you and it can get very frustrating. listen to other proffesional oboists online and hopefully that will give you inspiration and will help you. also, get the Barret Oboe Method book. So anyways Oboe is so cool and awesome. Practice a lot and then Practice some more!! Good Luck!!!! =)

the ring half (halves) IS the ring. Literally just half of your ring, when it's open the rings are split into halves. The site is referring to one of the halves…when both halves are together it makes up your complete ring. Your binder has 6 ring halves…when shut then you have 3 whole rings. Make sense?
